EZ CORE lawn aerator creates up to 3” long, over 5/8” diameter cores each time. It opens up soil well below grass roots. This aerator is engineered to overcome issues such as frequent clogging and difficult penetration seen in other manual lawn aerators. The unique tine design eliminates the clogging problem thus reduces the downtime. The sharpened tine tips make punching very easy. Unlike some other aerators that have too long of tines, EZ CORE allows you to lift your foot just high enough to punch the holes. While some aerator requires the user to remove his or her foot from the step bar before punching the next holes, EZ CORE doesn't. Watching the cores popping out one after another makes you feel good for the grass. This tool can core your lawn faster than expected, and give you a little workout at the same time. Just don’t forget to wear a pair of gloves.
Although lightweight, the entire tool is solidly made. All steel construction along with arc welding gives it lasting performance. It's also powder coated for corrosion protection.
EZ CORE allows you to aerate only the areas that need aeration, as frequently as you want, as dense as you want. You can avoid renting and transporting heavy machine or making expensive service calls. You can also avoid damaging your in-ground sprinkler system or breaking any wires and cables. Oftentimes, the most needy area is the area that can not be reached by heavy equipment. EZ CORE is a truly effective tool for a healthy lawn.
Core aerator vs. Spike aerator
Core aerator removes soil from the ground and leaves holes in it. This reduces compaction in the soil and the holes can stay open for a long time. Then air, fertilizer, and water will be able to reach the roots, thus benefit the grass. Meanwhile, the soil cores left on the turf will help breakdown thatches.
Spike aerator creates holes in the ground by pushing the soil sideways using wedge shaped spikes. This increases soil compaction, which is not good for grass. Since there is no soil removed from the ground, water will make the compacted soil around the holes to expand and close up the holes in a couple of days. Therefore the benefits of aeration will not be fulfilled.
